Traditional Venetian Plaster

Traditional Venetian plaster is an ancient technique that goes back to renaissance Venice, and possibly even to Roman times. It is achieved by putting 2 or 3 very thin layers of Venetian plaster over a prepared surface. The layers are compressed, and the final layer is burnished with the trowel to create the famous shiny look. Different colours can be blended together to create many different effects. Modern acrylic based plasters can be used to create even more looks.
