Microcement
Microcement is an amazing product composed of cementitious materials, colourants, and resins. It is an incredibly strong and flexible material that can be applied in a series of thin layers to a wide variety of substrates. It typically mimics a polished concrete look, but can also be used to approach the esthetic of polished plasters. Microcement is very popular on floors, and can go straight over old tiles.
Unlike traditional Venetian plaster, however, microcement is water proof, and is therefore often used in showers and wetrooms, with the appropriate sealers. Some microcements can also be used on kitchen worktops.
It comes in a wide array of colours. In terms of its finish it can range from a rough concrete look, to that of an old plaster wall, to a smooth polished sheen, and its sealants can be matte, silk, or gloss.
